With the Death of DRYRISER a change of direction was needed - and so Began 'THE FRAY' - acoustic harmony based 3 piece - with Tom Hurrell on guitars and backing vox with Dave 'Fingers' Morgan following suit - 2 releases and 50 gigs later The Fray ended as it had began.....difficultly. Tom is now one half of Folk legends 'Dayriser' and Dave is sunning himself in NZ.
Post The Fray Pete combined with Andy again for several duo projects and some lovely Bluesy bits however in 2003 joined Indie rockers 'Hollow'. With Nick Mathews providing guitars, Mark Lilley on drums, Toni Palmer on Keys and Lisa Hurst on Bass, Hollow proceeded to win over audiences through out the south west. If truth be known Pete brought the end of Hollow forward a few.....months - '3 day war' was the bands only release. Toni, Nick and Lisa can be founded in many great projects around the Bristol area.
Again, there is nothing like a change of direction, whilst watching The Chillies on Jonathan Ross, Pete and Andy decided that the future smelt of Funk. With Mark Lilley on Drums and Kirill 'Magic' Mathews on Guitar BADDMASH brought a new take on an old rountine to the south west - with 2 releases, 'The End of Baddmash' and 'Baddmashminton' Baddmash exited stage right having left a wake of bleeding ears, torn necks and broken groove things strewn about the south west. The now legendary 'Bass man' can be found with soon to be global 'Cary Grace band' - Magic shred with 'The Canes', a must see act for 2008 - and Mark (voted in the top 10 Bristol drummers of all time) can be found adding sticks to 'Rhetoric', 'Sheafson' and 'Merrick' as well as creating break core wonderment with his only solo project.
After Baddmash Pete has had the opportunity to play with some of the wests finest musicians with too many tracks and names to er.....name Pete found himself in an interesting situation. For the last 5 years Pete had been playing the odd solo gig here and there and had built up an acclaimed reputation in his own right (dont ask him how this happened, he doesn't know) that culminated in 2007 with a succession of festival performances, the acclaimed release of his 3 EP 'Warm Red' and winning the BBC Gloucestershire solo folk performer of the year. 2008 saw the formation and destrucion of Taylor and Williams with the legend )not THE legend) Andy Williams. What will the future hold?.....god only knows - no doubt more gigs, more beer and alot more great music.......(fingers crossed it will also include alot less cheesy one-liners!)
